Retirement With Service Earned With The Greater Pittsburgh Dairy Industry Pension Plan

The Greater Pittsburgh Dairy Industry Pension Plan (Dairy Plan) merged into the Western Pennsylvania Plan effective in 1976. The December 15, 1976 Amendment to the Western Pennsylvania Plan provided for the merger, and also provided for the following two groups of Participants:

1. Dairy Employees who did not have at least two years of Dairy Employer contributions made on their behalf after May 1, 1974, but who had deferred vested rights in the Dairy Plan as of May 1, 1976. Participants in this group are entitled to receive only the retirement benefits to which they would have been entitled with the Dairy Plan in effect immediately prior to May 1, 1976.

2. Dairy Employees who were actively employed by Dairy Employers after May 1, 1974, and for whom at least two years of Dairy Employer contributions have been made after May 1, 1974 to the Dairy Plan or the Western Pennsylvania Plan. Participants in this group are entitled to receive benefits from the Western Pennsylvania Plan under the terms of the December 15, 1976 Amendment, and as described in this Booklet.

A Dairy Employer includes any individual, partnership, cooperative or corporation engaged in the Dairy Industry in the Greater Pittsburgh area, which has a collective bargaining agreement with Teamsters Local Union No. 205 concerning production and distribution employees, and Teamsters Local Union No. 205 in regard to its full-time officers and other employees.

A Dairy Employee means any person employed by a Dairy Employer who is in the collective bargaining unit represented by Teamsters Local Union No. 205 and is covered by such collective bargaining agreement, and full-time officers and other employees of Teamsters Local Union No. 205 for whom contributions are being made to the Western Pennsylvania Plan.
