About The Fund

Welcome to the Website of the

Western Pennsylvania
Teamsters and Employers Pension Fund

The Pension Fund was established on September 1, 1956, and is a jointly trusteed pension fund, administered by a Board of Trustees, consisting of five Trustees who are appointed by Teamsters Joint Council No. 40 and Teamsters Local Union No. 249, and five Trustees who are appointed by the Contributing Employers. The Trustees administer the Pension Fund for the purpose of providing such retirement benefits as are authorized and permitted by law for eligible participants, pursuant to a schedule of benefits deter-mined from the level of employer contributions agreed upon as a result of collective bargaining negotiations between the various Contributing Employers and member Teamsters Local Unions.

The Pension Fund operates from its Administrative Office in Pittsburgh, PA, paying monthly pension benefits to over 12,500 retirees, survivors and beneficiaries. The Pension Fund currently provides a wide and innovative selection of pension benefits to its retirees, including normal retirement (at age 60); early retirement (between ages 55 and 60); 25-And-Out and 30-And-Out retirement; vested retirement; disability retirement; survivor benefits; burial benefits; and reciprocal benefits with other Teamsters Pension Funds.
